More emotionally stable and children-friendly, large dogs are also easy to train and bark less.

These are the qualities that make large breed dogs more popular than small pets, according to a study by RightPet.

The research, conducted between 2010 and 2018, analyzed dog breed evaluations made by 12,167 pet owners from 106 countries. It is worth noting that 75% of them were purebred dogs, while 25% were mixed breeds.

Among the conclusions, it is highlighted that both women and men are happier with large pets than with small ones, men and younger people prefer larger animals, older people (around 70 years old) are equally satisfied with dogs of any size, and people who own multiple dogs of different sizes prefer the large ones.

What makes large dogs people’s favorites?

More emotionally stable

When you need a friendly shoulder, large pets will be by your side to offer you comfort. They can be your best friend and still enjoy sleeping in bed with you.

Children-friendly

Large breed dogs are an excellent choice for families and can become a child’s best friend. With enormous hearts, they tolerate rough play and are always full of love to give.

Easy to train

To have a well-behaved dog, training is fundamental. And larger dogs can be trained more easily than smaller ones. Additionally, they tend to bond with their owners quickly.

Bark less

Calmer, large dogs tend to bark less. Additionally, they do not suffer from the “big dog syndrome”. Thus, barking noise should not be a problem if you have a large pet at home.
